LGBT Ireland is delighted to inform you that we have launched an LGBT+ National Telefriending Service for Older Persons in October.
We welcome referrals from Service Providers as well as self-referral via our website at www.lgbt.ie/telefriending or older persons can reach out to us on 01- 437-1209.
We match LGBT+ older persons with a trained and garda vetted volunteer offering a weekly and supportive befriending service over the telephone for mutual connection, friendship and support. We have piloted the service now for the past two months with great feedback and success from volunteers, service providers and older persons across Ireland.
We would appreciate your support in sharing this information with your networks, in conversations and through social media as well as in service provision broadly in order to reach LGBT+ older persons who are often invisible.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on 01-437-1209 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
below is key information, leaflet and service pathway.
