Blue & Green Network’s Video & Creative Climate Action Project Celebration & Launch

Councillor Mary Linehan Foley Praises Success at Blue & Green Network’s Video Launch

The Blue & Green Network: Video & Project Celebration Launch, held on the night of Wednesday, December 13th, was an outstanding success.

Attendees had the pleasure of enjoying captivating films produced by local filmmakers Kieran McCarthy and Michael Twomey of Complete Control Films. Guest of Honour was Councillor Mary Linehan Foley, who lavishly praised the commendable work of the Blue and Green Network.

The highlight of the evening was the launch of the Coastal Communities, Wildlife & Habitats videos, skillfully crafted for the Network by Complete Control Films. These can be viewed on the Blue & Green Information Hub, located in Cumann na Daoine. They are intended to introduce people to the rich biodiversity of the area, and encourage people to help preserve these natural resources.

Additionally, the creative arts project ‘Community Climate Resilience: Pathways’ was unveiled, adding another dimension to the celebration. This project will run through 2024 and is funded by the Creative Ireland Climate Action Fund.

Not only did participants have the chance to revel in the success of the Network, complete with tasty treats, but they also gained valuable insights into the Network’s mission and opportunities for involvement in projects and transformative initiatives.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to meet the talented filmmakers and artists involved, fostering new connections and reinforcing the sense of community engagement.

Thanks to CnD Community Café for providing a wonderful repast and a charming venue for the event, and to Michael Hussey for photography.
