This week we got well into the Christmas spirit with our two celebrations for older people in Youghal.
On Monday, the Spring Chickens group welcomed pupils from Miss Conway’s class at Bunscoil, who regaled us with poems and jokes, as well as teaching us all some Lámh signing. The students had made a Christmas card for everyone there, which was a lovely kindness.
We sang carols, had a wonderful Christmas dinner and a raffle courtesy of the students who had donated calendars, and kind gifts from the Walsh family.
Santa came too, we’re glad to say!
The next day we welcomed other older people from the town and again a wonderful dinner was enjoyed, and with singing from Gaelscoil Choráin’s school choir, the atmosphere was truly uplifting.
Thank you to everyone who joined us – our spirits were raised by your company and we look forward to seeing you all again in the new year. Our especial thanks to the CnD Café staff who created an absolute feast!
