Seeding the County news – LGBT+ development across the county!

There’s been a lot going on in Seeding the County already this year, and Marielle and Hayley are looking forward to working with YOU over the coming months!

February is LGBT+ History Month, and we produced this ‘mini-guide to legal history’ which you’ll see displayed in your local Family Resource Centre and library (take a look here too)

Later this month, resource packs are being sent to all these community outlets, so you’ll see the flags flying over the next while! For the Lifelong Learning Festival in April, Dunmanway FRC and Cumann na Daoine will each be hosting a session on queer culture…

In the next few weeks we’ll announce a launch date for our Building Blocks Toolkit for LGBTI+ Inclusion in Family Services’. This offers guidelines for community services to ensure they are welcoming to their LGBT+ service users. We’re also running another band of training – in LGBT+ Youth Awareness, Trans Awareness and Addressing Domestic Violence. Places are still available on these online courses from BeLonGTo, TENI and the West Cork Women Against Violence Project: see below for booking details!

The Youghal LGBT+ Network and the new Parent Support will be meeting soon – details will be posted here.

Watch this space for news on our forthcoming projects – we’re planning outreach events so if you’d like to have something happen near you, give us a call! We’re open to all ideas 🙂

And do get in touch! Supporting LGBT+ people in getting what they need is what we’re about – so don’t be shy!
