Spring Chickens, our social club for older people, has at last returned and all are enjoying spending some time together and enjoying the lovely food from CnD Community Cafe!
We started the year by gathering up all the splendid knitting that members had done over the past few months, and have sent their donations of baby hats, blankets and cardigans to these worthy causes: Feíleacáin: the Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Association of Ireland; Cork Maternity Hospital premature Baby Unit and the Rotunda Foundation. Patterns and wool are available for those who want to keep knitting!
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be covering a lot of local history, through the new photo exhibition at CnD Cafe, Family Tree discovery, and storytelling projects. We also have a full programme, with Blathnaid Foley’s Chair Yoga already a winner! We’ll be doing some singing coming up towards Easter – we may even make a recording to be part of the online Bealtaine Festival of Older Age in May.
Full Spring programme is below.
If you or a family member would like to join Spring Chickens, please call 024 91900, call in to the front office Mon – Thurs 10am to 2pm or call Hayley on 087 9890336. We’ll help you complete a registration form and look forward to hearing from you.
