Hoping you’re all well and safe this chilly day – and that you’re looking forward to a good break over Christmas.

It’s been a challenging year in many ways, but here at Seeding the County we’re happy that we’ve made contact with so many of you, and been able to offer some events and activities that have gone down well!

From our Queer Chronicles history series early in the year and through our weekly Teatime zooms, we’ve managed to stay in touch and plan some extraordinary developments for LGBT+ people across the county!

The new advocacy group held their first anti-homophobia demonstration in August; community organisations across the county shared their Pride with window and social media displays. Youghal Pride by the Sea had its first ever Pride Parade and there are film screenings still to come. Our Building Blocks Toolkit for Family resource Centres will be launched in January, and we are working on a new Parent & Family peer support group.

While Seeding the County 2 officially ended on 30th November, we’re delighted to have received further funding to deliver ‘Seeding the County 3: Growing Into the Future’ into 2022.

We’ll be publishing a full report on this year’s project in January, along with some video links, so watch this space – and indeed, watch out for the new plans and events we have lined up. 2021 was a hard year, but together we will make it into a new year, and our community continue to grow and thrive.

Thanks to our Project Worker Marielle for her hard work, good cheer and commitment – we both look forward to working with you again in the coming months!

Wishing you all a Proud and Happy Christmas, and a new year full of good things.

Stay safe, stay well,

Hayley
