In recent months, LGBT Ireland has been working on launching a new LGBTI+ Telefriending Service for members of the LGBTI+ community over 50+, which has been progressing well.

 

We are now ready to launch a pilot in August for a small cohort of service users with the intention of officially launching the service nationwide as part of International Older Persons Day, October 1st 2021.

 

By mid-August, we will begin a recruitment for telefriending volunteers to join our existing cohort of LGBT Helpline volunteers who are supporting us during the pilot.

 

Our webpage is now up and running and people interested in availing of the LGBTI+ telefriending service or wishing to volunteer are invited to complete the online form through the website.
