The ‘Community Life’ photo exhibition was launched last week, to a great reception and eager voting! The images shown are the judges’ shortlist of competition entries: the competition was designed to encourage amateur photographers to show what community looks like through their eyes! The exhibition also has an exciting twist – there’s a public voting system in place so YOU will decide the winners! Voting is open until June 19th at 5pm, and with the judge’s agreement, the three images with the most votes will be the winners. So do come down to see the wonderful pictures and place YOUR vote for the best!
The Community Life Photo Competition and Exhibition are a collaboration between Youghal Residents Network, Cumann na Daoine and Yew Wood Arts and supported by a Cork County Council Community Enhancement grant. Judging panel is Sinead Goggin (Yew Wood Arts); Michael Twomey (local filmmaker and historian); Mary Daly White (Chair, Youghal Residents network) and Alisha Doody (photographer & filmmaker).
Winners will be announced at the Award ceremony on Wednesday 26th June at Cumann na Daoine.
