Youghal Energy Audit launch and EirGrid Roadshow: coming soon!

Youghal’s Blue & Green Community Network (also known as the Youghal Sustainable Energy Community) presents the Energy Audit Report for Youghal alongside EirGrid’s Energy Citizens Roadshow on Wednesday 9th November at 6.30pm in Pobalscoil Trionoide, Youghal.

This event will see the launch of the Network’s Blue & Green Energy Audit (Energy Master Plan), a mapping exercise for Youghal that can help local communities respond to climate change and energy usage. The audit was commissioned by the Blue & Green Community Network through a grant from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

Adding to the impact of this audit, the Network is delighted to partner with EirGrid, who will present their first Cork Energy Citizens Roadshow as part of the same event.  The Energy Citizens Roadshow are public events  which aim to inform local communities about EirGrid’s plans for future-proofing the electricity grid, as well as providing information about home energy upgrades, retrofitting grants, regional development issues and microgeneration: generating electricity or heat on a small scale, in ways that don’t contribute to the depletion of natural resources.

All are welcome to the free event. Refreshments will be provided and the Youghal Blue & Green Network along with EirGrid welcomes everyone to come and learn more about our energy futures.

The Blue & Green Community Network has already created greater awareness of local and global climate issues, leading workshops, eco-learning events and linking with local action groups such as Coastwatch Ireland to help us all protect the planet.

Nov 9th – commencing at 6.30pm at PobalScoil na Tríonóide – will see the launch of the B&G Youghal Energy Audit report (Master Plan) in conjunction with EirGrid’s ‘Energy Citizens Roadshow’. We would like to invite all organisations and their members, and the general public, to attend this launch. This launch will be followed by two workshops to explore what this means for Youghal and how we can respond both at a personal level and as a community. Workshops will be facilitated by Connor McGookin from Inis Energy and the dates are as follows: Nov 16th at 7pm and Nov 30th at 7pm. Everyone who is interested in energy transition is welcome to the launch and the two workshops.
