Yoga Ball Drumming at Spring Chickens Older People’s Club!

Great times were had at yesterday’s Spring Chickens Social Club!

Niamh Herbert, Community Health Worker at Youghal Community Health Project, brought Yoga Ball Drumming to the group and oh, what fun was had! Everyone joined in, either drumming the balls balanced in buckets, or drumming on the tables. It’s so good to make some noise, the smiles and laughter filled the room. It’s also good exercise for the arms and for getting us to breather deeply. Thanks so much, Niamh, for a brilliant session.

After this, everyone sat back for a rest and Debbie Laatz from Youghal Credit Union gave us an informative and friendly talk on what Youghal Credit Union can offer. With  leaflets, useful bags and reflective armbands to keep us safe when walking on the dark evenings, everyone was well informed about the benefits the Credit Union can offer, and Debbie will be happy to come back to talk about any specific topics that members are interested in.

Spring Chickens continues to offer a safe, welcoming and friendly space for older people in Youghal and the surrounding areas. The group meets every Monday (except Bank Holidays) from 11am to 2.30pm, with tea, scones and lunch included. New members are always welcome – why not pop down and give it a try?

We ask members to pay €11 each week to cover food costs, but no-one will be turned away for lack of funds, just come along. For more information, call Hayley on 087 9890336.
