Seeding the County LGBT+ Newsletter!

Hello, and another happy Friday to you all! It was wonderful to celebrate Youghal Pride with so many of you last weekend, it was definitely a day to remember! Be sure to check our facebook and instagram accounts if you’d like to see photos from the event and keep an eye out for GCN’s Documentary series ‘In and Out’ which will be featuring Youghal’s 2021 Pride Festivities! Release date and more information will be out soon.

Last newsletter I filled you in on Saoirse Aiteach’s brand new radio show, The Gay Agenda, focusing on all things LGBT+, and if for any reason you were not able to hear it live, fear not, it is now available online as a podcast through this link: https://cry104fm.podbean.com/e/TheGayAgendaEp1 . Be sure to like the Gay Agenda’s facebook page to be the first to know when new episodes are coming out!  The next programme will air on Wednesday 10th November.

Saoirse Aiteach is Cork’s newest advocacy group, supported by Seeding the County and is always on the lookout for new members. So if you want to be involved in a lovely community filled with people as motivated as yourself to make a difference in the LGBT+ community, then don’t hesitate to drop me an email on mariellecumannnadaoine@gmail.com.

Next week, on Wednesday 27th of October, Seeding the County will be supporting Dunmanway Family Resource Centre in hosting an outreach event. Dunmanway FRC would like to know what LGBT+ services you would like to see offered, so if you live in Dunmanway or the surrounding areas, do not miss this chance.

A short and easy online survey is already available through this link: https://forms.gle/qRQvYCU1QZUAmHXZ8 but everyone is also invited to join us in Dunmanway FRC between 12 and 3pm on Wednesday for a coffee and a chat about the town’s needs. We will also have printed versions of the survey for you to fill out at the Resource Centre. People of West Cork, seize your chance and let your service providers know exactly how you would like to be supported within your community.

Finally, this is your weekly reminder that our Teatime Zoom Sessions are always there if you need a space to chat, relax and simply be yourself. Simply send an email to seedingthecounty@gmail.com to get your link for the sessions! Teatime Zoom happens every Thursday between 5pm and 6pm.

Be sure to check out our facebook page and instagram page (@seedingthecountycork) to get all our latest news!

That’s all from me, have a great weekend,

Stay sane and stay safe,

Marielle
