We’re putting together an autumn programme for all you lovely LGBT+ people out there – and your friends and allies! Some actions will be online, and we hope to be able to move into small gatherings in the not-too-distant future. One time that we can be together will be for Youghal Pride by the Sea on Sunday September 20th, from 4-6pm on the Strand. This will be a socially-distanced picnic (bring your own sarnies :-D) and there will be entertainment and a chance to see each other in all our glory. Watch out for the continuation of our video project in the run-up to the day!
Also on the cards this autumn:
LGBT+ History Course. We’ll be working with a number of organisations and presenters to bring you an overview of how we got to where we are – incorporating Irish, USA and UK social and legislative changes; the birth and development of the Gay Liberation movement, and bring our own stories to bear in creating the history we make today. The first parts of this course will be online – we will offer support in your participation wherever possible.
LGBT+ Training: How to use Zoom, Google teams and other online resources; How to manage group activities; how to manage conflict within groups and how to organise events and activities.
Visibility Campaigns: Making us more visible in the county, in our community
Needs Assessment: We will hold consultations (online and, hopefully, live) and run surveys to help us report on what is needed in the county to make LGBT+ lives safe and supported.
LGBT+ Youth Big Creative Project: We hope to safely reinstate our short-term youth activities that were put on hold during Covid19.
Looking forward to working with you over the coming months!
