Fantastic line up for Youghal Pride on 26th!

Youghal Pride will take to the streets again this coming Saturday, 26th August, for the 2nd-ever parade that brings celebration, LGBT+ visibility and colour to the town.

Parade assembly is at Dolphin Square car park from 12.30 and the parade will move off at 1pm sharp. This year our Grand Marshall is Eddie McGuinness, the Queen of Matchmaking (The Outing Festival); Mr. Pride Himself.  You can show your support for the LGBT+ community by joining the Parade or cheering us on from the street!

The Parade will take us to Green Park for a Family Fun Day, where a fantastic line up of performers will entertain us from the beautiful bandstand. The event will open with new two-piece band Touch Excellent, followed by local woman Sinead Lee with Yasmin Bickerdike a& Alex O’Mahoney. We’re delighted then to welcome the Mockie Ah drag family to the stage, with Queens Mia Gold, Letycha Le’Synn and Liam Bee ready to celebrate with us. Finally, we have the great rock band Eclipse, led by local man Keith Watkins, to have us dancing around the green!

Information stalls from Health Projects, Cumann na Daoine and LINC in Cork will tell you about available supports and services, and our merchandise stall is full of goodies for you to buy – and help support Youghal Pride!

There will be games for all ages, facepainting and a raffle – thanks to the kind support of local businesses. We’ll be thanking them all by name on social media on Thursday. Food will be available from Tipsy Taco, and the DASH (Drug & Alcohol Sexual Health) van will be onsite to offer advice and rapid testing.

Pride is an important event for the LGBT+ community, marking as it does the beginnings of the Gay Liberation Movement in 1969 and takes place around the country every year. This weekend Youghal has the opportunity to demonstrate it’s inclusivity and warm welcome for LGBT+ people and we invite you to share this celebration with us.

Youghal Pride is led by a small voluntary committee, supported by Cumann na Daoine with the additional support of Cork County Council, HSE & Youghal Credit Union.

For enquiries email – and see you Saturday!
