BOLD Climate Action Healthy Ageing, Healthy Planet webinars from Friends of the Earth

Are you over 60 and interested in climate justice? Or know someone who is? If your answer is yes, BOLD Climate Action, a group by and for older people, are running a series of online webinars “Healthy Ageing/Healthy Planet” to give you opportunity to get involved in climate action with other people of similar age – giving you a chance to help shape the world you want to see!

This project is led by Friends of the Earth and the short series of webinars by BOLD, in partnership with Irish Doctors for the Environment, are on topics which highlight the positive and constructive links between caring for our health as we age and caring for our ailing planet.

Webinar 2: Connect with Nature, Care for Yourself  –  a Physiotherapist’s Perspective – March 5th, 11am

Speaker: Orlagh Gaynor, Chartered Physiotherapist

In this webinar, we will look at how connecting with nature offers opportunities to keep active and strong as we get older, on land, in water, and your own back garden. We’ll explore a little of the biology of ageing, why this is important and the science behind the nature-health connection. Learn about why your healthcare provider might opt for social prescribing for healthy mind, a healthy body and a healthy planet. We’ll finish with a call to action – brainstorm some actions you can take at home and in your community to look after nature – and you!

Our health and the health of our planet are deeply connected. Many of us are preoccupied with keeping healthy as we age. At BOLD, Older People for Climate Justice, we are focusing on the connections between actions which are both good for our health and good for the planet.
