Youghal Women’s Group recently visited the Carewswood Garden Centre and Cafe in Castlemartyr. The owners of the centre, Daniel Leahy and Juulika Lomp gave the ladies a very warm welcome. After tea and delicious homemade scones, Daniel gave a demonstration on how to display plants and flowers to the best advantage in a container, together with advice on their maintenance.

The ladies were delighted with the variety of blooms and plants on show and roamed around outside despite the rain. They also enjoyed a stroll around the shop attached to the centre which in addition to garden products also offers a wide range of items from tablecloths and greeting cards to chutneys and jams.

The afternoon was pronounced a great success and the ladies departed laden with their purchases. The Women’s Group extended their thanks to Daniel and Juulika for their kind hospitality. The visit will be remembered with pleasure for a long time to come.

Youghal Women’s Group meet every Wednesday from 3 to 5pm at Cumann na Daoine, Catherine Street, Youghal. All are welcome so don’t be shy, ladies, come and join the group.
Carewswood Garden Centre and Cafe is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm and on Sundays from 12noon to 6pm.
