Happy Friday everyone, can you believe it’s almost December? 2021 has flown by in a hurry! As we start winding down for the year there are still plenty of things to get busy with.
This week is Trans Week of Awareness and it will culminate tomorrow, November 20th, when we celebrate Trans Day of Remembrance and remember the lives of those lost to anti-trans violence. We would like to wish the best of luck to Bród and the community down in Clonakilty, who will be assembling today in Emmet Square at 1:30pm to raise awareness together.
TENI will be facilitating an interactive Trans Mental Health Workshop based on their ‘Heads Up’ Guide to Mental Health and Wellbeing on Monday 22nd from 7-9pm over Zoom. TENI’s National Community Development Officer will cover topics such as accepting yourself, moving through the world as a trans person, coping with difficulties and maintaining positive mental health. Here at Seeding the County we are very excited to announce a screening event happening at the Regal Cinema on Tuesday the 7th of December at 7pm. We will be showing a brand new documentary entitled ‘The Alphabet Mafia’. It is directed by Sinead Huggins-Young and explores the lives and identities of the LGBT+ community across Cork. The development of this project was proudly supported by Seeding the County and we hope you join us for an evening of community and fun. The event is free to attend, but we ask that you drop us a message via email to book your spot, as spaces are limited! Covid Pass required.
