EQUALITY STATEMENT

Cumann Na Daoine is committed to providing equality of opportunity for all, to protect the dignity of employees and to promote respect for others at work.  All staff and all users of the Centre are trusted to behave in a non-discriminatory way and not to participate in any acts of inappropriate behaviour, harassment or bullying.

Cumann Na Daoine is committed to a policy of equal opportunities in employment and service provision.  It recognises that in Irish society, particular groups and individuals are discriminated against and denied equality of opportunity.  We aim to promote equality as a way of developing the full potential of everyone in the community.

SAFETY, HEALTH, AND WELFARE  POLICY STATEMENT

Cumann Na Daoine will dedicate adequate resources to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of employees and other people affected by the organisations’ operations. Cumann Na Daoine will do all that is necessary to observe and comply with the requirements of the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and applicable regulations made thereunder. All personnel employed have a responsibility and obligation to comply with the requirements of this policy in achieving a safe place of work and to take reasonable care of themselves, and others, who may be affected by their work. Cumann Na Daoine’s health, safety, and welfare aims are summarised below:

  • To provide, maintain, and manage a safe and healthy working environment, safe equipment and safe systems of work for all employees and others.
  • To conduct risk assessments and take into account the general principles of prevention when implementing safety, health, and welfare control measures necessary to reduce risk.
  • To provide information, instruction, training, and supervision as is necessary so as to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of its employees while at work.
  • To ensure the prevention of improper conduct or behaviour of its employees at work as far as is reasonably practicable.
  • To prepare and maintain adequate procedures and plans to be followed in any emergency.

Cumann Na Daoine will review this policy annually and in the light of experience, developments and legislative changes. Employees are encouraged to put forward suggestions for improvements to the safety statements.
