CnD Women’s Group presentation to Youghal RNLI

In June 2022, the CnD Women’s group launched a publication ‘The Legacy Project’ which was the result of a series of storytelling workshops led by Michael Twomey and Hayley Fox-Roberts. These stories are well worth a read to anyone interested in local history!

The group members generously decided that money raised by the sale of the book would be spilt between the group (which receives no other funding) and Youghal RNLI.

Sales to date have been going well, and on 9th November, the group made a presentatio0n to Youghal RNLI of €350.  RNLI representatives Mark Nolan and Rhonda Desmond were delighted to receive this support, and the celebration was enhanced by participation from LTI Culinary Skills students, who provided a range of delicious treats, all embellished with the RNLI flag.

The group also kindly made a presentation to Hayley, Development Worker with Cumann na Daoine, for her efforts to bring this project to fruition.

You can still get a copy of The Legacy Project from Cree’s Newsagent; Read & Write; Cumann na Daoine and Youghal RNLI gift shop. At only €5, it’s a bargain, and you know you’ll be helping save lives at sea by buying it!
