BEE Kind – Spring Chickens supporting BunScoil Mhuire’s Síolta Beaga class

At this week’s Spring Chickens, members received a BEE Kind badge in support of Miss Conway’s Síolta Beaga class at BunScoil Mhuire who undertook their first Junior Entrepeneurship Programme.

The boys designed a special company mascot called Benny Bee to help spread a message about the importance of ‘BEEing Kind’. These young entrepreneurs are also organising a ‘BEE Kind’ Day here in Youghal on Wednesday, 15th of February. In the days and weeks leading up to this special community event, they have sold ‘BEE Kind’ button badges and packs of greeting cards that they designed themselves. A percentage of the profits from the sale of these products will be donated to Cork Penny Dinners. With Benny Bee’s help, they hope that the streets of Youghal will quite literally BEE buzzing on Wednesday, 15th of February.

They have also been selling packs of beautifully illustrated cards featuring images of well-known Youghal landmarks. A pack of 5 cards costs €6 while 2 packs can be purchased for €10. Cards will be available to buy in Read & Write from this week on.

Keep an eye out on shop windows and on social media on 15th to see if your favourite businesses and organisations are participating in ‘BEE Kind’ Day!
